**Basics**: first question asked must be whether you aim to LITERALLY JUST LOSE WEIGHT or if you want to lose fat and keep/build muscle. Unsurprisingly the latter is harder, it REQUIRES exercise and optimizing nutrition. Merely losing weight is much easier, not as troublesome thanks to not requiring exercise at all, and is fine in case you just want to go from morbidly obese to "normal".
